Big Horn Canyon Ranch

"Big Horn Canyon Ranch" is in Riverside, CA. They advertise pigs for $325. A gentelman who works there returned my call and answered a few questions. He said the ranch is 1,000 acres. It's NOT put and take. Wild hogs are $325 and Russian Boars are brought in from somewhere and cost I think he said $425. It's not a traditional "guided" hunt but they do "help you out." They dress, skin and quarter your kill for $25 bucks. Looks like a pretty good deal but other than that don't know a thing about it. Anyone else know anything more?

I've never been there but if you were told that "it's not put and take" I think someone lied to you. At least that's what I've heard.

Any place where you can hunt pigs without tags is because they are farm raised.

Save your money and head north. We investigated BCR and found it to be less than a true hunt. As was already mentioned, this may be for some, but I prefer to hunt fair and hunt hard. Outfitters to the north allow access to the land and some guide service depending on what you're looking for. Some just open the gates. You'll hunt a lot harder and IF you bag a pig it'll be worth the reward. Good luck!

"It's not a put and take" I guess that depends on the definition. They stock the ranch with animals at the beginning of the "season" and stock as needed. It's a big place if there are only a few pigs left. We brought the kids there and it was a lot of fun. The owner is a very nice guy.

1,000 acres...no way. I've shot Cheryy Valley 3'D's there a number of times. At the end of the ridge where you park, near the cleaning shack and shade roof/table, you can overlook most of the property and watch the assorted goats, pigs, sheep. It's not hunting and is definately put and take.
