As you have all read over the years, my daughter Cindy has been hunting with me since she was 4. She has taken a good number of animals over the years. When she was 18, I got her a guided pig hunt and the addiction began. She has killed 3 pigs on her own thus far. This year, for her 20th birthday, her boyfriend and I chipped in and bought her a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .270 Winchester with a Walnut stock and 3x9 scope.

What's the first thing she did? She went to the range and shot it.

What's the second thing she did? Booked a pig hunt for April 20th.

Can't wait to see her get her first kill. I think I am more excited than she is.

Congrats DB. I have a 2 year old
Boy and a girl on the way. Stories like that get me excited to get them out hunting. Congrats on a fantastic family. Sounds like the BF is a keeper as well!

Nice DB, It's hard to explain the feeling when you see your little girl grow up and embrace the outdoors lifestyle we so enjoy. Going to meet my 19 year old daughter at her college in Idaho in a few weeks to help her out on her first turkey hunt. Congratulations on helping to keep traditions alive, best of luck to your daughter on her April hunt.

My oldest is 10 and youngest is 7 both girls, I started my oldest shooting at 7 she loves it now my youngest is loving it, only had one 22 so I bought my oldest a ruger 10-22 for Christmas, she loves it and likes breaking clays that I set up for her at 35 yards, my youngest uses my anschutz 22 youth woodchuck and doesn't like her sister having semi auto while she uses bolt action. Its a great opportunity for me to teach her one good shot is better than 10 bad fast ones.Lol... I love this. I hope your daughter gets her pig..

Jesse - I am not going on this one. I am babysitting the grandkid....although we may sneak up there and hang out at the ranch headquarters while she is out in the field.
