Well decided to come to Calif to visit my brother-inlaw for a few days and told him I wanted to go pig hunting he told me he would take care of it. arrived in Calif on the 25 of March went to Santa Barbra for my first day and could. not be leave how hot it was when I left Colorado it was snowing Well got the first day in Calif out of the way not to bad.My brother in-law sat down and he proceed to tell me what he had in store for me.He told me to pack a bag for the night and load up for the trip to Paso Robles because we would be meeting Clayton from Bitter water Outfitters at 530 Friday morning . Well we got to Paso around 400pm this seemed a little more like Colorado nice little town stayed at the Holiday Inn express not to bad wish the swimimg pool was out side but I guess you can't have it all . Well we sat around the motel for the night my brother in-law telling what to expect and just enjoy going - Well get up at 400am I grab my red bull and my brother in-law grabs his 5 hour energy drink and we load up the jeep and drive to San Miguel to meet Clayton at 530 we get to the meeting spot sat for about 5 min and Clayton arrives and the hunt begins Clayton asked me about my hunting experience and told him I don't hunt with a scope I just hunt black powder open sites he joked with me it might be a long day my brother in-law got a kick out of it well I'm using his 270 with a leupold scope so I figured I would be OK well after a 20 min drive we get to the Ranch we are going to hunt as we wait for hunting light Clayton gives last minute instructions and we are off we start driving thru a nice oak covered canyon stopped and glass did not see anything movining so we continue to the end of the canyon and nothing moving we start heading in the next canyon and 150 yards along the side of the canyon wall 12 piggies walking along heading for cover Clayton and I get out of the truck he ask me if I am OK taking the shot my answer was the racking of my gun at that time I drop to my knee Clayton tells me to shoot the one I want well I pick out the ugly Grey one about 250 lbs and let it rip as the dirt flys up underneath the beast my brother in-law let me no I missed I rack another round in and Clayton tells me to shoot the big black one running along the edge of the canyon I let the round go and hear the best sound in the world the big thud pig walks 5 more yards and falls over dead the sh-- talking stopped right there. All I said game over I will say it was one of the best hunts I have ever been on Bitter water. Outfitter's was GREAT Clayton is a great guided new what he was talking about and made my hunt fun would do it again in a heart beat it ended up being 205 lbs and a 258 yard shot and half to thank my brother in-law for sighting in his gun the best part Clayton asked if we wanted to see the rest of the Ranch so we took a drive stopped and tryed calling turkeys in had a few answer Clayton said opening day was Saturday good times
