Black Bear Lottery Ends Saturday

Hunters interested in participating in the 2007 black bear hunting season must enter the black bear lottery over the phone by 6 p.m. this Friday, August 31 and online by 6 p.m. this Saturday, September 1. The proposed black bear hunting season will be a split-season that is scheduled to take place October 22-27 and December 3-8, 2007. In order to allow all interested parties an equal opportunity to participate, permits will be awarded by a random selection process which will be held on Thursday, September 6. A list of winning applicants will be available online at http://blackbear.dnr.state.md.us starting 5 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007.
