I just ran across this on ebay.

Boar Powder

Just wondered if anyone has tried this and if it would even be legal in California (baiting?)

Oh, I think they'd DEFINITELY consider that baiting (an attractant that has nutritional value), don't you think? Best to directly ask a warden about it to be sure, but my guess is if it sounds like, smells like and looks like a skunk, well, it probably is one.......

"....nutritional value..." ??

hmmm, I wonder if this Boar Powder has more nutritional value than a Big Mac ??

say..... would dropping a Big Mac constitute baiting ?? or would that be more like cruel and in-piggie punishment ??

Cheers,

Carl

I found this complaint on ebay from a buyer:

Complaint : Product does not work. Fresh pig tracks within 20 feet of bait. Bait untouched.
Response by wolfmtnoutfitters - When they find it, they'll get into it. Unknown if customer followed directions

I know for a fact that "Hog Wild" works, but cost a few$'s more.

Can't use either in KA.

BTW, there is nothing that says that "bait' hs to have nutritional value. In the "Tracks" DFG big game booklet there is a QA article from a game warden who states that even scent attractants could be considered bait--specifically using vanilla extract to attract bears.

I bought some of that "boar powder" off of ebay and so far it has not helped in the amount of hogs we have taken. I have also used the "hog wild" stuff also and it didn't seem to help us out either. Where we hunt and trap it is legal to bait and what has seemed to work the best is just plain corn.

I tried "fox" powder once of twice when I was younger. It worked like a charm. However, it's expensive and illegal. This was many years ago. LOL

ps-- Have not seen it on e-bay, yet.
