With regards to Lake Sonoma harvest stats. Why do you think more sows were taken than boars?
2012/13: 22 sow hogs, 12 boar hogs.
I couldn't find the sow/boar numbers in previous posts, just total # of hogs combined gender, but I think that the majority or all of them had Sow #'s>Boar #'s. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I know without the exact sow/boar #'s from previous years this isn't as strong as a trend, but even with the 2012/2013 stats alone, the amount of sows taken is nearly double, 50% more, than boars taken. So this leads me to the point of this thread: Why do you think more sows were taken than boars?
My 2 cents: 1. Sows are easier to hunt. This I can strongly defend.
2. There are more sows than boars. This is a theory which I don't have much to backup.
So what do y'all think? Agree/Disagree? Have anything to add? See the same thing, but in different areas?
