I have been going to texas for hogs for a couple of years and have had the same problem, hogs coming after shooting light!! The ranch we are looking at this year allows the use of a light on the bow

My question is, has anybody out their used a light on their bow?? And where would I locate one???? How have peoples experience been with them??

Thanks, this forum is great, have only gotten good advise, in every forum, thanks in advance!! Youngtrout

Have hunted a few ranches around san Antonio, of the few, If anybody has any questions feel free to ask, limited but maybe I can help

Hi Youngtrout
I don't bowhunt so I'm not sure if this will help..but you might want to check out Surefire lights...They are basically the leading edge when it comes to weapons mounted flashlights and are used by Law enforement/military all over the place...Maybe if they don't sell a light designed for a bow you could adapt one of their systems for a pistol..They are pricey but their 3 cell set is bighter than a car highbeam in the light it puts out.
Hope it helps

Hi. Let me first say that there are several ways to do this.

1. Use a product called "Starlight" which will light up only one pin (usually the close shot pin)

2. Use a sight light which lights up the whole sight. Some sights come with adapters and lights such as a PSE hunter Sight. Some sights have the abililty to put small or mini glow sticks in the sight lighting up the glass tubes going to the pins.

3. Use a peep sight that helps gather light. Usually a black sight with a see thru green ring.

4. Purchase a mini mag light adapter (bass pro shops sells them) that screws into the stabilizer area.

5. Hunt under a feeder that has a "hog light" or night time light on it.

That said I built my own light using a mini mag light, stabilizer adapter, and a small presure switch so that I can set the mag light to the on position and tune in the beam then just press the presure switch when the target is in the zone.

I know I spoke about it on here and I think AEH also built one like it. I'll try to find that thread and post a link to it.

EDIT:

Here's the link to the thread
