I was at Jerys archery and he was telling me about this ranch he belongs to its $400 and its archery only its a weekend hunt unguided but if you dont get your pig you get to come back one weekend a moth for a year until you bag one.Is this a good deal it seems like up to 12 weekend trips is a good deal.Any info would be helpful.

Hey Cal Hunter,
I'm in Jerry's sometimes and so is SierraExplorer(a lot more than me). I've seen the sheet about the ranch, I've been wanting to head up over there but just havn't had the time. If you go from Tracy, you would head up Patterson Pass road from I-5 towards the Juntion, and then down Mines rd. from there. You'll see a big red gate with wagon wheels on it, that's the entrance. Not to far of a drive for you. It does seem like a good deal, and Jerry talks like it's a pretty good place. I'm more interested in the exotics then the hogs, I've taken a log of hogs but always have wanted an exotic. Let us know how you do if you go!

I had a long, running conversation with one of the guys from Bows and Boars about the operation. It sold me, but I was tied up with other expenses and didn't ever go.

One important thing to remember is that if you wound an animal, that's your kill... whether you recover it or not. That's a good policy, in my opinion, but it does mean you want to make darned sure of your shot and your abilities.

Let us know if and when you go.
