The California Department of Fish and Game's (DFG) Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Program has scheduled another Central Valley birding workshop for April 25 through April 27.

The Central Valley benefits from an abundance of bird life, especially at this time of year. Participants can expect spectacular scenery with views of swans, geese, ducks, eagles, other raptors, and more. Birding binoculars and spotting scopes are provided.

This workshop has practical benefits for either the novice or experienced birder. Classes include learning how to identify birds from a variety of means, including song or sound, habits, habitat, and appearance.

Members will stay in a premier hunting lodge just outside of Colusa, with comfortable accommodations in a relaxing atmosphere. The bunkhouse has dormitory-style sleeping space with shower and toilet facilities. The spacious kitchen will be used to prepare the food.

The cost is $100 and includes the accommodations. There are several spaces available. For more information about the workshop, and to register, please call (916) 653-7448. DFG has a website at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/bow/owoman.html for a complete guide to workshops.
