Brian,Brunton is a fairly good glass.I bought some Eternas from them some years back and was very pleased with them.I recently bought new glass after extensive research i opted for Swift 8.5x44 roof prisms.I paid $375.00 and couldnt be happier. They rate with glass costing 3 times as much (swaros, zeiss, etc. You might want to do a little reading at http://www.betterviewdesired.com it is a birders website and they do intense testing of MANY binoculars.Ive had the roll up eyecups wear out twice on me and Brunton sent me new ones, noquestions asked. They are located in wyoming, although i dont know for sure where their glass is manufactured, seems to me i remeber it being of japanese origin.Good luck,Shep.

A friend of mine bought the 12x42 Eterna's last year. He hasn't had them out much, but he's really happy with them. I used them a bit during deer season and was impressed with them. Right now I'm debating between Brunton/Nikon Monarch/or Cabelas Waterproof series. Good luck, and let us know what you go with.           Scott

I purchased a discontued model at a great discount and am very, very pleased with the quality. I got them through www.sportsmansguide.com, Brunton® 10 x 42 mm Lite Tech™ Binoculars, Item #WX1-54394, $179.97. These have the appearance like the new Eterna's but without the price.
