This weekend I went shopping for a mid sized binocular in the 8x42 and 10x42 range and compared several brands with various price tag amounts. I looked at Bausch & Lomb, Nikon, Zeiss, Steiner,Swaroski's, and several other brands that I can't remember right now. But one pair really stood out to me because they seemed exceptionally sturdy with a very good glass at a very reasonable price (about $400.00). They were called Brunton Eterna's; I had the oppertunity to try them in outdoor light with decent urban views and they really competed well with all the other binoculars I tried and were better than most. I spent a very long time there adjusting all the different pieces so that they would be adjusted to me. by the way, I have 20/10 vision. But to make a long story short I couldn't justify buying a much more expensive pair so I left to think it over awhile. Has anyone else had any experience with Brunton? How is their costomer service when things break?

A friend has the pair you speak of and he simply loves them. They are very bright at dusk/dawn. He has never had a problem with his.

From what I've read in hunting mags over the years is that Brunton products are all very well made and that the factory is on your side.

hope this helps.
