Any resent reports on Deedy's place? I'm thinking of heading down there and was wondering how it's been. Since I got skunked at my last hunt, I'm going to try her spot, just have to get some copper bullets and hit the range.

I was just there chasing those bulletproof turkeys she has running around (long story).

There's good hog sign, and she's been reporting a lot of hogs. I didn't have much time to get out and look for them on this trip, since I was focused on turkeys. The full moon didn't really help matters either, as far as the hog sightings go.

If you go, I'd suggest planning at least a full weekend trip, but you should have a pretty good hunt.

I was just there this last Monday/ Tuesday. There is plenty of sign, conditions are on the dry side. The wind on Tuesday made things really tough.

Carl (Gnn961)/ Kenny (Huntsndives) tried the ole one day on Thursday (04/16/08) and didn't score. They saw one the night before. I haven't heard the particulars so maybe they can chime in with a more detailed report.

I guess, word is some of her leases have barley on them. Any idea when the barley comes up, or has it already. I assume this would make things a little better and maybe easier to locate.

Was there 2 weeks ago. Have to pay attention to the wind or you will get busted. Find fresh sign under the oaks and work the area. When you are close enough you will even smell them. We had two groups of hunters, wind in our favor, one group on a ridge line and the other down below. We started working an area with fresh sign, the lower group busted them out and the guys on the ridge line took them out. The second day, we found fresh sign again and worked the area but the pigs busted us and took off. We were seconds behind. Pics to follow later. The pigs hold tight in the brush, we had to belly crawl and burn rubber to get to them but hard work will pay off at the end. Good Luck. Excellent cabins, great meat locker, and Great hostess. Been there 5 times since last year.

Thanks for the info. I'm debating on this hunt for now, i'm looking at getting a new rangefinder so we'll see what I end up with.
