Ask Deedy for the tour. If you are new to pig hunting you will learn more in that hour tour than you could in ten years by yourself... have fun and good luck.

Hunted up there about two weeks ago. Saw lots of pigs and missed a nice boar at 372 yards, Missjudged the distance and shot about 6 inches too low. My bad. This time of year they are hooked on the barely. Like everyone else already mentioned, Listen to Deedy. She will do her absolute best to put you on pigs.

I hunted there this spring. She knows a lot so take some good notes because it is all great info.I didn't get anything though probably because is was a full moon.there is always lots of sign but remember if your going semi guided hunt you are on your own and might not be successful.also, she will probably show you but her land she has access to is pretty much the only areas that have pig sign.good luck and have fun

Hi guys,

First of thank for all your suggestion. Here the report. Deedy still have hogs. Got there Friday late afternoon, went thru the rule then Deedy show us around, showing all recent hog activities. Got give it Deedy, she know more about hog than hog themselves.

Brough with me Remington 700 in 243 winchester and 30-06. Sat morning arrived to the field at 4:45am and hunting hour is 5:15am. Took my 243 with me. Got all my gear and check it twice. Here we go 5:15am so we walk in the dark for 5 minutes, come up to a ditch with high grass and suddenly this loud snort at me from the brush and this thing come running out, not just one but three

Sorry hit the wrong button. Anyway these are all big pig, not sure how big. First mistake i forgot to load bullet and they came out so fast I grab my bullet and try to load one but damn. I got nervous, shaky and drop my ammo. By the time we load the pig already far from us and my buddy took the shot and it was high. These pig are so fast and took off to the hill, fog doesn't hep at all. We lost them. Hunt over for the morning I guess. These hog already warn the rest of the gang about us. Came back that evening set up at 6pm in the hill waiting for them to come out. Evening hunting end at 8:45. Two Pig came out at 8:35 over an area down the hill more than a 1000 yard away. Run down the hill by the time we get there hunting hour is over but we can hear them in one of the bushes. Anyway that hunting. NeXt morning, we set out and this time bullet in the chamber. This time we ready, no pig...anyway great time at Deedy place, learn alot about pig.

Great story Chavid thanks for posting. There have been some times when I felt like Barney Fife in the field, fiddleing around with my one bullet. While the opportunity to kill my quarry quickly evaperates before my eyes. HAha. Good times! It always seems to happen when your not quite ready... Everyone here probably has a simular story. If not for pig then some other big game. The great part is that you learned for the next time. I have to get back up to Deedee's

Hi Guys, Great info on Bryson.

I'm heading there Oct 1. Any advice? Especially on lodging. Deedy's cabins are most likely booked. I'm thinking about staying in a trailer at Nacimiento but I'm worried about the no fire arms rule. I was looking for information on the rule but couldn't locate any. I wonder if it means, no waving them around but locked up unloaded would be fine?

Any thoughts?

Good luck on your next hunt Chavid.
