I live in the Antioch area does anyone know of a good place, (esp: for hams) anywhere in the east bay?

Duane's off of lone tree way at tregallis, behind the bar named the 19th hole. Haven't lived in Antioch for about 30 years although Mom and Pops still do. Called Duanes last year and was told he butchers pigs. I use bobby Lees in Hayward and am pleased with the service. Good luck!

There's a shop in Pittsburg. I think it's Parkside Market. Little mom and pop corner grocery and meat cutter. Did my pig last Oct. Kelly Meat's in Livermore did one for me before also. I think next time I'm going to try Bobby Lee's. I've heard good things about them.

Go to JHO POR thread in Events forum. MJB provided a good link into butchering of wild and domestic animals and with very useful article in curing ham, etc.

Bobby Lees in Hayward sounds good.
Thanks guys. I used Duanes on deer( had problems!) Parkside was great untill his son did one (deer)

I do my own deer & elk now but wanted a place for the hams & bacon Thanks again duc.

I'm not sure Kinder's does wild game, but I may be wrong.

Bobby Lee's is great...he gets all my business for wild game. Don't go home without some of his bacon (domestic)...it's re-darn-diculous.

Kinder's doesn't do wild game any more. DFG busted the guy next door a few years ago and while they were at it they checked Kinder's books. They really hadn't done anything wrong but I guess the records weren't perfect and they decidec it wasn't worth the effort.
