I've read alot of the ads on bug proof clothes, but I want some real world testimonies. From somebody who has actually bought and used this stuff. Does it really work? Is it worth the money? Which brand name seems to work the best. I'm not cheap so price doesn't scare me, I just want a suit that REALLY WORKS!! Thanks

I have a Bug Tamer, it works good. Two layers of protection.

Anybody tried the "Rhino Skin"? I see it in Cabelas, and thought it might work good out here where it's so hot. Don't really need it for deer hunting, but it would sure be handy in the early season duck marsh.

I don't use a bug suit as I don't need anything more to add to the 80+ degree heat that's still around durring bow season, I currently wear shorts under a net type gillie suit. I use Insect repel. This year I will be trying out "No Stinkin Bugs" which only cost's about $6 a can as apposed to the cost of the "Bug Suit".

Speck,

A friend of mine bought some of that rino-skin.She said the mosquitos went right through it.

Thanks, Bucksnort.

I was wondering about that. I have a lycra dive skin that sounds like the same material and design as rhino skin, and the mosquitos can drill through that thing like it's not even there.

It's too hot in the CA deer hunting and early duck season for some of the heavier solutions. Guess I'll stick with my Deet.

Go with the Bug Tamer. I bought a windbreaker style top that is excellent. Flow thru ventilation and no weight. When I run my dogs during summer it provides an excellent mosquito netting over my upper body. Bow hunting with it, I have no problems other then the zipper which goes up over your face to enclose your entire upper body. Wearing a hat under the "jacket" lifts the bug tamer away from your face so bow hunting is no problem.

Packs into a little ball so you can throw it into a fanny pack if need be.

I have the ryno-skin bug suit, it doesn't stop the darn mosquitos. Its really light weight. Recently went to Bass pro shops in Charllote. They had a 3d leafy camo bug suit by Shannons for $60. Its really nice, I wear rynos under the Shannons suit and feel naked in the woods. Its comfortable during the hot bow season here in SC.

Hey fish, your right about it being comfortable when it's hot,the breeze goes right through it. I read on one of the labels that came on mine that you can get it wet and shake the majority of the water out then wear it and the slightest breeze will cool you down, kinda like a swamp cooler.I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like a good idea for hot weather.

Bucksnort,
I did notice that when I washed it. The darn thing felt dry when I removed it from the washer. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Maybe we are on to something. LOL
If it gets any hotter here I will try it. Going in the morning, hope I get to let one fly.
