Well, my dad decided last minute to put off our trip to Colorado to bowhunt elk untill next year. :(

I can understand his reason though. Next year I will have my drivers license so we can split up the drive.

But still, I was really looking forward to my first elk hunt and first out of state hunt. I had even secured a large private ranch to hunt on and researched the units.

So I'm thinking of getting a CA bear tag and trying to do something to keep me busy till next year!

What a bummer! It is a long drive for cali to colorado, I'll be making it for the fourth time this year. Good luck on your bear tag and keep preparing for that elk hunt. I didn't get to go on my first out of state hunt till I was 18, a rifle muley hunt in Nevada. I have been hooked ever since, now I do up to four out of state hunts a year for a variety of species.
