I see some folks are selling factory demos with 1 year Bushnell warranty for about $200.
So it got me thinking if that's a good rangefinder and a good price…

Have a Yardage Pro 800 and it has been sent back for repair twice. Bushnell has done the repairs each time ("Re-programming"?) at no charge well after the warranty period, but it has been a hassle. I am saving for a Leica, perhaps by the 2005-2006 season...

That came a bit late - I already jumped and bought one (compact 800).
What specific problems were you having ?

Don't let me miss lead you, it has been a good rangefinder when afield around my neck. Not had any problems with it on hunts. In both cases the rangefinder has just frozen up in my backpack (fortunately on the way home from hunts). All I can think of is that it gets a button depressed for an extended period of time and simply wigs out. Each time I have called Bushnell and they have said send it in and they "Re-program" it and it works fine? Suggest keeping it on top of your pack or any place where it won't be contacted with other items and it will probably be fine. Who knows, mine is a couple years old and they may have corrected the issue all together.
Best of Luck!
