I called DFG to see when they expect to have the information on-line and they said in the next couple of weeks and they plan to mail the booklets out at the same time. I guess that means that we won't receive them until late April or early May. Any idea if they have posted the proposed tag numbers by species? Last year, I think the elk proposal was on their website in March. Just interested to know if the number of elk tags increased again.

Tag numbers are going to be pretty much the same as last year. One or two minor changes but nothing major. I will try to get them up on the web soon. I use to have a scientific aid but no more so it is only me. Good luck in the draw.

Thanks Joe! I figured it was wishful thinking to have the tag numbers increase again.

I heard a rumor there's going to be a significant increase in sheep tags, maybe a couple of new hunts.....And and open zone, maybe elk raffle tag.

Looking forward to seeing the booklet!

I believe there will be two additional sheep hunts as well as a raffle for the Owens Valley Fund Raising Elk Tag and an open zone deer tag. This is all pending Commission approval. I am guessing the booklet will be online beginning of May. They are finishing up the edits, so hopefully sooner. The raffle (I forget the correct term now) for the Fund Raising deer and elk tag will be $5.40 per chance and you can buy as many as you like. No license is needed to apply and if you win there is no additional tag fee. Again, that is my understanding and I am not putting those together so do not quote me on the specifics if it changes slightly. You should also be able to apply online this year with the new ALDS system. Good luck to everyone.
