so I'm posting to ask about elk in the rut. I have about 5-6 pts I belive so I should hopefully draw next few years and I would like to apy for a rit hunt. does ca ofer a rut hunt? or what's a high sucess rate area for archery I'd like to apply for the zone that will be the most memorible hunt whether cause of quality or quantity or the calling of elk any suggestions would b appriciate it thanks hunt safe

I think that the Tule Elk breed in June/July. I say that because there were cows this weekend at FHL that were harvested that had fetuses. The biologists said with all the info they had and studies done that this was the "best" time to have the hunt. I do know that the blacktail deer over there were in the rut. The bucks were running around with no concerns except getting after the does.

I'll have to make some calls to the biologists and ask them what they think. the deer are rutting there.... so I wonder if they are in d5 or why the coast starts earlier I thought temps were the main cause
