I have been put in charge of a project for the California Bowmen Hunters (CBH) and I need some help. I am trying to locate all of the successful archery bull elk hunters from this season and past seasons to get these elk entered into the CBH records program. If you have been successful or know of a successful hunter, please forward the contact info to me. They do not have to be a current CBH member to enter the animal and with their first entry into the records program, they get a free one year membership to CBH.

With Boone and Crockett recently recognizing Tule elk as a separate species, Pope and Young is looking at the number of Tule elk entries as criteria for them also recognizing a separate species.

I just measured a nice 7x7 (typical) Tule elk taken from Fort Hunter Liggett by David Kiper, 260 7/8. Nice bull Dave. I will post a pic soon. Thanks Ed F

This is a California bowhunting record book. CBH has been keeping bowhunting records since 1960. The California Deer Association, has a record book that accepts rifle killed elk in California. Ed F

Opening weeked I saw Two real nice Bulls taken by Archery a 7x7 and a 6x7 I know for a fact that they will score real high in the books. I got drawn for a cow tag and filled my tag also on opening weekend of the first hunt , she dressed out at 355 pounds gret hunt

Excellent. I knew he was gonna get into trouble. I was within 40 yards of him 3 times. On Monday morning he had dropped that arrow. Did he drop it or break it off? Damn barbwire. If it hadn't been for that deflecting the arrow I would have been done Sat night. Post some Pics.
