I am proud to announce that I have been hired on by the California Deer Association as their Central and Southern California Regional Director.
CDA is a non-profit, tax-exempt wildlife conservation organization whose principal goal is to improve our California deer herds and other wildlife through direct financial support for habitat improvement and research projects.
It's charter calls for 75% of the net proceeds from fundraising to go to projects benefiting deer and other wildlife within California. Of those monies, 40% goes to Habitat Restoration and Improvements, 25% goes to Land Acquisition and Conservation Easements, 25% goes to Biological Studies (Research), 5% goes to Equipment and Supplies, and 5% goes to Public Education and Youth Projects.
Now more than ever, California Deer herds need our help. Be it by tax deductible donation, sponsorship, membership or volunteerism. If you are interested in joining or helping support a banquet, I can be contacted anytime. We hold 30 big game banquets throughout the state of California so there is sure to be one near you.

I must say that after browsing the caldeer site, there is much to be desired. Is that a functioning organization still? If so, please let me know if and how I can get involved. There is a hunting problem. I am not too sure if organizations are set up, optimized or are even open to younger people and bringing in younger people to help carry on hunting tradition so that these organizations last.

After my conversations in general, it seems like everybody wants to "protect" what they know and are closed off to newer folks. It would be advantageous to do the opposite and bring in younger folks to help keep organizations, like these, and traditions alive amongst a community.
