White Mamba, I have a question for you. Do you roll around Lake Sonoma in an aggressively modified raised white van?? Just curious, Ive seen that vehicle their several times and it seems to fit your name for some reason.
dude gives me "van envy". his hunting rig is badarse. i met up with him once and he was eating microwaved mac&cheese. i swear he once asked me if i wanted some popcorn. i didnt respond, thinking i imagined hearing that...
Classic, my buddy and I have seen you a few times, of course before we knew we observing the MAMBA. We actually named your lookout, Mambas Lookout. What a coincidence! Was up there today, lots of deer and quail, but couldnt find the pigs. Seasons almost up.
Mambas Lookout, I like that, i gonna steal that one! Id say stop by next time your out but we only got one more day! Ill be there sat all day looking for number 7, if your out keep a eye out for me. Good luck out there!
Mamba,
How'd it go on Saturday? I was out there on Friday evening and the conditions seemed ideal, yet I didn't see anything. I hiked the trails around Mamba's Lookout (Boar Scat, North Side, etc.) In fact I was up there around 7-9 times this season and only saw one pig! What was your strategy if you'd be so kind to share? Even without bagging one, it was great walking around and getting to know Lake Sonoma. Certainly saw plenty of wildlife and had good times. Mamba do you put in for the turkey or deer draws at LS?
my buddy and I were out at the Lake and had a chance to talk to WM (not knowing he was THE White Mamba). Yeah that van was seriously a bad ass piece of equipment. You could go anywhere in that thing.
Hi jzeblaz, i wanted to get out there on friday, but was tied up all day. Another hunter i know told me someone got a pig on thurs and friday! Sat. i was on the pigs everytime i went out, they were crawling all over the place when i finished that night! My strategy kinda varies on location and time of day, in my opinion the best thing you can do is make a hunting territory where you think the pigs are and then work it continuosly till you know where the pigs come in, out, what time they move, what herds are in the area, where does the wind blow in the morning and how does it change throught the day. once you do that you can really make a plan on how you want to hunt, and you will learn alot! Most of my success at the lake comes from my TREMENDOUS amount of faliures and what i took from them. Good luck next year!
