Anyone hit Camp Roberts lately? Or heard anything.

I was up on the memmorial weekend and no hogs were shot for the weekend. Im not sure how it went on monday but the hogs werent around. There's alot going on with the training and they also had construction pipes everywere that may have pushed them out of the area. But if your a deer hunter i seen in two day 17 bucks one being the biggest 3x3 i ever seen i can't wait till bow season about 3/4 were legal though one area i didn't get to hunt being it was off limit for the mm hunt was area 1 and 7 but as far as hunting go's can't wait to get back up there.ig-laughing: :archer green:

Camp roberts used to be a pretty good public land pig opportunity. However, about 2-3 years ago they offered a pig deprevation permit/hunt to all employees of the base to rid the base of hogs. Historically, the memorial day hunt hunt was excellent with 10-20 hogs taken on this weekend. My neighbor who works on the base said that even during his exclusive hunt opportunities has yet to see a pig this year. This is unfortunate for the public land pig hunter like myself and others. Even though the training is heavy one would think that the incredible number of hunters on memorial weekend would have taken a few pigs.

Sorry about my post above I ment about 3/4 of the buck i saw were spikes and the rest were legal all in velvet. blacklab i have a cousin that just came back the friday before mm day weekend from training on the base and he said they were allowed to hunt on camp roberts so like you said.
