OK guys, It does not look like we will have a 4th hunt, but I think we are close to have year around hunting. I think we can get this going, to save the Purple Amile flower(bull s@$%). We will have a couple of hunts a month year around, maybe. It still has to go to the base CO. As soon as I find out I will let you all know.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP

Sounds great! I'd love to be able to get up there more often. Each time I go I find a new area and sooner or later I'll get that darn PIG

But than again I feel like they should allow the active military personnel hunt every weekend. I can understand the personnel that are used when they open it up to the public, but allowing the military hunt every weekend wouldn't tie up anyone. After all, we can go on the base anytime we wish. Just my

We need to set up a hunt that some of us can make. Put some faces with the names. I've met Boartracks, still owe him one. Looking forward to the bow hunt.

Hey I'm new on here and not to familure with the area that you all are talking about. I'm from Fallbrook and Active duty so I think that I might be close to what is going on. Where is Camp Roberts?

STEVE, I live maybe 15 minutes from you and its not even a little close. Camp Roberts is about 3 1/2 hours or so north. Its up in PASO ROBLES. I get up to Vandenburg hunting a few times a year if your ever interested just pass me a word or two and maybe we could work something out.

Camp Roberts is a very good place, and I'm hoping they open it up more often. Would like to make it up there 4-5 times a year. Boar Tracks is stationed up there and gives us the inside about it all. They don't have anything special for us Active members, but I'm sure hopeing they one day will consider it.

Year-round at Camp Roberts.... sounds great !!!!

And please don't forget to add us retired guys to any wish-list for mo' betta mo' often hunting access for military brethren. Several of my pals consider that to be one of the greatest acts of human kindness any base CO could offer to a fellow vet.

Cheers,

Carl

Boar Tracks,

You have only been an asset to JHP. Thanks a lot. I have met you twice but I didn't know it until I started putting two and two together. Once at four season and once at Camp Roberts.

Boar Tracks,

Just a couple of questions on the Archery hunt that's coming up in July, they may be stupid but here it goes.

I know it gets hot down there that time of year, I do hunt the A zone, but don't like hunting in the heat all that much. Just how hot does it get that time of year.

When hunting archery, do you need to register your bow the same way you do the firearms.

Thanks again.

about 100 to 110 deg. But the hogs and deer are out in the middle of the day here by the river. Thats why if you see all my pics here I'm always in shorts. Its hard on the legs but a whole lot cooler. As for your bow,YES you do need to Reg at the gate.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE

I forgot the dates on the July hunt. Was it during A-zone archery opener?
