Camp Roberts

Heading out to Camp Roberts this Sunday, first time hunting there, have hunted Big Sandy across the road, just wanting to know some ins and outs of this place, not your honey hole but some general directions once on base.......Plan on rifle hunting but bringing the bow also..........

Depending on how I want to hunt? Last Chance Res. located near the Cantonment Area if I want to glass the area and stalk hogs, or West Black Bass Res. if I want sit and wait them out. The Black Bass Res. hogs move to bedding areas up through a ravine that heads South East from the reservoir, well, it is usually only a mud hole. Plenty of sheep ticks, so take care where you sit down.

thanks for the info... been looking at google earth at camp roberts and looking at the bow hunting areas looks like it could be pretty good up north in area 7 along the Salinas River well I will give it a whirl tomorrow hopefully its not full and I can get in.... If not will head over to big sandy and walk the river bed....
