I have been told by a guy who, I don't think wants to go, that if it rains, we can't get on base. Is that a fact or not? I'm sure if it was raining to the point that is was a hazzard then would call it off right? I've never been there but will be this time. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance. Cda55

I've been at FHL when it was dumping buckets. I don't see why Camp Roberts would be any different. I'm sure BoarTracks will be along with the answer you're looking for.

I hope everyone has a successful outing this weekend. However, I will tell you that today our local newspaper has a full page dedicated to trout opener and Camp Roberts. Please be careful as many of you will be "sharing" similar areas. Good Luck.

Good Point Buck Finder I haven't thought about that. Hey Boar Tracks, is this going to help out the pig hunters or make it even more difficult? You keep refering to the pigs being near the river and with the trout fisherman down there, how will this change the pig hunting???

I can't wait!
I'm bringing my 2 kids this time too.
I've got the VAST experience of one day of Camp Roberts hunting under my belt, so I'm ready! For some reason I always seem to strike out when my kids are with me, but now's the time to break that bad luck and show 'em some pork!

I would look at san miguel, most of the hotels in town are booked because of a car show and home show at the fair grounds. If you have a camper, trailer or even a tent you can stay on base at the campground or go to the east garison gate and camp at the railroad tracks.

Good luck to all.
My truck is getting a new engine, so I will be in a grey honda accord(83).

BoarTracks,

The lady from the billeting office told me that we must have an RV in order to camp at the campground. She said tents are not allowed there.
