Can someone write a quick tutorial on how to post pics using Webshots.com?

I get a lot of requests on how to post pics from there but since I don't use them I have no clue. It appears Webshots info isn't clear on how to post your pics in the forum.

Thanks a bunch.

Unless WebShots has recently changed their policy they will not host photos to other websites. Some time ago they discontinued hosting to other websites and more recently cut down on the number of photos you could store without paying a fee. I've removed all my photos from their site. I haven't visited the site for some time maybe someone has more recent information.

Ironwood has the correct info. You have to view the photos at webshots site. The only way to post the picture here would be to post a link to the pic in your folder at webshots.

My goof. What is the link to post for Webshots? Many people post a link that says you are forbidden to view the page.

There was a trick to how to post the link.

Most of the time when you get the forbiden error it is because the person that posted the picture is logged in as them and viewing the picture when they copy and paste the URL. They, the person posting, needs to copy the URL to the picture or album as if they were a visitor to their own pictures, that way there is no loggon name in the URL. I have found that most webshot URL's that don't work is due to this reason.

SO in closing be sure to view your webshot pictures as a guest or visitor and copy the URL from there and then come back here to JHP and paste it.

Good Luck!

I would give better details on this but webshots is banned here at the office as is most other "mass" photo host's due to the bandwidth hogs that they can/have become.

Rut,

I use Pbase for posting here. The only way you can is to pay for their service. It is cheap though at $23 a year for 100megs.

If you do not pay, you can link to it. Dpreview.com has something worked out with pbase that allows you to imbed photos w/o paying for pbase (or they did at one time).

If you pay, after opening the pic you want, copy the address and paste it here with the IMG code and add .jpg to the end of the address.

I personally love the layout and ease of use for pbase, although I only use it for storage of photos that will not be on my web page.

Here is a pic imbeded from pbase....

Jim
