canadian looking to hunt in hawaii

Two buddies and are looking into a DIY hunt in Hawaii. We are from Alberta, Canada. Can anybody help me out with the rules on this. Thanks.

Don't know about the regs for foreigners, but for non-residents you can't just show up and buy a hunting license.
You MUST first obtain a "letter of exemption" through the Honolulu office.
