Good day all! It has been years since I have been to Carizzo Plains. I Remeber first going out there after the Tule Elk were introduced out there, and that was an incredible sight to see. I have recently moved to Frazier Park CA, so I am much closer to Carizzo. I am thinking about heading out there in the coming weeks since we have recently been pounded with rain and snow. Is it still a pretty good area for Pigs? I know that Los Padres NF has a firearms restriction in effect until 12/2024, does anyone know if something similar applies to Carizzo??? I'll probably pick up a pig tag and head out there soon. Thanks in advance for any info.

No answer as to the current pig situation in Carizzo Plains but as far as I know the Los Padres National Forest firearms restriction only applies to shooting, not hunting.
see attached document from Los Padres NF.

Don't know about the pigs there, but I do not they got a lot of rain and the spring flowers are starting to bloom. So, if you don't get any pigs at least you will see some pretty sights.
