Could someone tell me the general area of carrizo where the pigs tend to be. I know there aren't a lot of them up there, but I'd like to go looking anyway.
The pigs move around with the season. The few people here that have found good spots are probably not going to give them up.
Best bet is to either call the office or stop by there. The woman who works there has lived there all her life. She can tell you where she's seen pigs hanging out recently. Or cruise the Caliente ridge. Find a spot with food and water, and you may find pigs. Also look for areas that border the private ranches. Pigs may bed in the brush on public land and then move to the crops on the private land to feed.
It's going to take some foot work, but if you find that small canyon or water hole that has pigs, it may be good year after year.
Bighorn, Going over tomorrow hunt through thursday your more than welcome but you better be a hiker. Be camp at the KLC camp area Sandpipper trailer and a white Ram pickup. Steve K
