I am interested in what is the cheapest new camera that people have found that works in homemade setups without rewiring the entire setup?  Is the Canon the best deal?

I know a lot of people diagree on this but to me the best deal is not always the cheapest.

I look for how easy a camera is to get into and how good are the pictures it takes.  Next would be battery life and price of the camera.  Put these together and yes I think the OWL wins.  Others may disagree.

Oh know here we go again!  :rolleyes-green:

I agree that the Owl is probably the best camera for the job, but it's not the only camera that works.  There are a Polaroid model 35mm and a Vivitar model that have date functions that have been successfully used.  If you're not interested in the date/time function then there are probably countless point ant shoot cameras that will work.  Do a search on the board for Polaroid and Vivitar to find the model numbers.
