Chetco and Dixion Unit Oregon

I was thinking of heading up to either the Chetco or Dixion unit of Oregon for archery elk season. Never been to Oregon to hunt before and if anyone could could give me some general areas to look for elk in either unit I would apperciate it. I just want to be able to see some elk and not go up with out seeing anything. Thanks for your time.

Chetco bag limit is "One bull elk" while Dixon is "One elk".

In the Chetco unit, east of the town Brookings, you can check out Mt. Emily areas. Going north of the town you can also check out Mt. Italy areas. Another area to check out would be east of the town Gold Beach in the Sugarloaf Mtn, the drainages of Lawson Creek is worth checking out.

In the Dixon unit, try the Rogue Umpqua Divide Wilderness or areas surrounding Diamond Lake.
