Did a little one night trip down to chews ridge in Los Padres. Tue evening hiked along the pine ridge trail out of China camp scouting out the valley on that side of the ridge, no sign of any animals 3 miles in so called it an evening and hiked back to camp.
Wed morning woke up bright and early and checked the drainage that goes right through China camp. Found a fairly popular deer trail with a lot of deer sign, and found a bunch of pig sign, but it looked fairly old, saw some fresher stuff once the trail hit private property...go figure. Not much water out there, did stumble upon a covey of mountain quail though and a couple doe with some little ones that we're still spotted. Other than that pretty boring trip unfortunately
