Choppers: March 14th-16th hunt, Roll Call

Ok all you hunters it is about two weeks before the pig sticken starts. The way we have done this in the past as far as meals is a pot luck for dinners and every one on there own for breckfast and lunch.

If thats how we want to do it this time go a head and post up what you are bringing for the pot.

Chopper will probably post up here as to where and when to meet up.

I come from Coalinga so i will meet you all at the gate, if thats ok with you Chopper.


I have a feeling its going to be nice weather and the ground will be nice and soft for stalking.

O how many trad shooters do we have on this hunt, maybe we can get a little friendly contest going here ya no like The Sticks and Strings agsainst The Machines?

Chopper has a propane grill right? I seem to recall that from last year's hunt. I'd be happy to bring down some sausages and rolls and stuff to grill for 1 night's dinner. Calhunter did that last time and it worked out real well.

You can count me among the trad shooters! Chek-Mate recurve will be the go-to bow, but I'll have a longbow or 2 along for the ride.

Are you sure it would be fair to take on "The Machine's?" I mean, they have to lug around all that heavy gear all day. We should maybe at least give them odds or something.

by the way, i shoot one of them wheelie bows (Bowtech Tribute) to be exact.

Now thats what im talking about. I think if we remind them each morring to take there release aids and range finders with them it will make it fair

Ill bring french bread, green salad enough for the weekend and chips to munch on through out the weekend.

Hi all,

I'm bringing my Bob Lee longbow with my special "Angel of Death" arrows. I also might bring a Dryad long bow I just made from a blank, it would be cool to kill a hog with it. I'm not sure about food and I might bring some bratwurst and a few pies. I can't wait!!

I'm really looking forward to this guys... I'll be shootin' my Bob Lee Hunter Recurve, 60" long, 58lbs @ 28". Homemade woodies with 160grn Ace BH's that will be in my new GFA quiver.

I'll bring about 10lbs. of carne asada or pollo for one of the nights with torts and hopefully if I have the time some salsa.

I don't know about this. Orso, make sure you spike their tacos with a few extra chilis. Might give us a few hours head start in the morning.

You guys will have to hunt hard as the hogs are scattered and tight to the brush piles. Just spent the weekend up there, very few hogs seen during daylight hours. Put your time in and you just may get lucky. My legs are really feeling it now. Good tune up for the April hunt.
Go get'em and do your lucky hog dance, cause you need every once of luck comin your way.
