Clays? Any public areas?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place near the Modesto/Turlock area to shoot clays? There are a couple clubs but I am looking for maybe some public lands to plink and shoot clays. Thanks.

Waterford sportsmaen club has a trap range open to the public. Last year it was $3 for a round of trap. Turlock is members only. Stevinson sportsmen club has trap, skeet, and real sporting clays (not 5 stand) http://www.stevinsonsport.com/

Thanks HuntrJohn, I'm turning in an application to the Turlock Sportsmens club. I gave up on looking for BLM or other public areas to shoot. I've checked out some public ranges but they are always packed full of yahoos. Stevinson Ranch, or now the Rooster Ranch is nice but a little pricey.
