Just to let all of you know my hunting buddy was in the Clear Creak area yesterday and returned from a day of hunting and found two of his tires flat. When he asked a person that lived near the area he was told, "People are poaching the elk from this area and some of the local do that to discourage hunters." Has anyone else had this experience as I am traveling back to the area this week?

No I have hunted there myself and have had no problems with anything like that. Bloody shame that had to happen. Would love to catch someone doing that to me!!That is pretty sorry when someone goes and messes with another mans car.

Was this up by new Idra? (can't remember how it's spelled).....I used to hunt up there quite a bit until the drunks from L.A. started showing up and shooting their guns all night long.....(at least they said they were from the L.A. area).....but never had any problems with vandalism.....if this happens alot I'd set up and watch and wait with a camera and catch them at it.....turn them in to the Local authorities......it's getting harder and harder every year with all the morons popping out of the woodwork.

I've heard rumors about this kind of thing over by Laguna Mtn., but it hasn't happened to me so far. Of course, I haven't been hunting out there nearly as much as I used to.

Over on the New Idria side, things are a lot weirder. Between some of the dirt-biker parties and the odd folks down in the "ghost town", well, I'm real hesitant to leave my truck close to the road over there. Even so, though, nothing has ever happened to it when I did.

I think I will go up to the area this week and set up a sting operation. So for anyone looking at any trucks or cars think twice. I really don't think the people would visit this site, but if they do look out!

I think it's simple to stay warm....... make sure you have four tires to drive out of there and get warm with your woman.....

I was up in new IDRA, a few years ago, like SPECKMISSER said very wierd to say the least. As I understand it it is a drug rehab place run by the state. Even a warning sign posted when you enter the town. Felt like something out of "Deliverence" when we rolled thru there. Strange folks! Funny about these guys from LA. ran into a bunch at Condan peak who said they were from there, just shooting crap up all night long, ruined everyones hunt for the day, not that Condan peak is a hotbead for hogs but didn't even get the chance to maybe see something that day.

I met a guy in B-Zone a couple years ago. He told a story how he drove a group of morons out of the wood. The guy said every year the group of morons would come early and occupied the same campsite. If another group was there before them, the morons would mingle in and the group that was there first will eventually moved to a different campground. Anybody else that came after them and wanted a campsite in the same campground had to put up with their ugly attitudes and night drunk activities which involve shooting emptied beer bottles with guns. If anyone in the campground ever tells them that whatever they're doing is not right, they usually end up in an argument or a fist fight. For three years in a row this guy run into the group of morons on the same campsite. The fourth year the guy decided to head out to the mountains three days early. The group of Morons was not there yet. The guy buried a box of 500 .22 rounds and a handful of 308s and .45s in the campfire of the campsite that the morons always occupied. On the Friday evening before the season opener, the guy drove by the morons' campsite and saw them unpacking their stuff. The afternoon of the Saturday, the guy drove by the morons' campsite again and no morons, no vehicle, and no camp equipment was there. The morons had packed up and left and there was still smoke coming out of the campfire. Since then he hasn't seen the group of morons.

Where were you parked when your tires were slashed? I was thinking of going down there this weekend.

One of the main reasons why paying money to hunt private land is seeming to be the only way to stay away from "slobs".....

It's just too bad that you have to pay money to enjoy hunting, and to keep your tires from getting slashed by some idiot who has nothing better to do. I wonder what he would think if I came over while he was out enjoy whatever it is he enjoys and put a clip of 180 gr 30 06 into his vehicle. You can't enjoy a nice "free" walk through public land without worrying about some moron messing with your stuff. I'd like to catch somebody just one time doing that, I think I could make him see the error of his ways
