I was thinking about heading to FHL this weekend but since they didnt open many TA's last weekend I want a Plan B. Who knows how to get to the Clear Creek Management Area. I will be coming from Stockton and the directions on the BLM website says there is some nondeveloped roads you take in. How bad are they?

Hello there. I live in Coalinga and have in this area all my life. Clear Creek is plan Z (you are hunting hogs right). I would not drive from Stockton to Clear Creek if the gas was free.

FHL yes
Camp Roberts yes
Vandenburg yes (military only)
Lake Sonoma yes

If you must go to CC there is a way in from I5 but have never been that way and it is unimproved roads. You can come in from Coalinga and it is asfault to the enterance.

Slim pickin's at Clear Creek, but think "high" and find some water. There are hogs there.

From Stockton, head down I-5 to Shields Avenue exit, then go west to Panoche road. Hang a left and head up to Idria. Just stay on the main road and it winds right through the old mine town and into the BLM unit.

The way Speck is describing will take you into New Idria. You will have to go through Idria and over the mountain to get to Clear Creek.
