after looking around the big sandy on Saturday, and then tried driving up to Stockdale Mt. but roads were to muddy truck was sliding around on flat ground in 4 wheel drive.
so today Sunday I went over to upper cottonwood , got their about light break, walked out of the main parking lot for a few hours up the hill, saw no signs, so went to the concrete thing and walked back in,
found fresh signs and followed them and came behind a nice black bore maybe around 150lbs, but I'm new at this so could of been bigger I saw tusks from about 60 yards, I was down wind and started to stalk it , he started up a hill and I keep just out of sight along side of him maybe 30 yards and I stopped just shy of the top and he went into a oak tree, I started to find a good spot and, boom he was gone, walked around the tree no where in sight, must of ran up 200yards of hill side in less than 30 seconds.
I now think I should of went to the top of the hill and waited for him ,
Theirs always next time, some where

Krisdude, that was close. Does "boom" came from the rifle or just you saying it?
