These pictures were taken using a Nikon D-90, a 70-200 F/2.8, and the addition of a Canon 500D 77mm close-up lense. After buying the camera and the lense, I couldn't afford a true macro lense. The 500D runs around $150. The purple flower comes from a weed called Filaree Storksbill.

I tried photographing a Ladybug but it wouldn't hold still. With the 500D the focus distances is a mm or two, any movement throws you out of focus. I got the idea for the 500D from this video.
