Tejon!!!

You will spend more money in gas driving around public places then driving 150 miles to Tejon and paying $500.00 for 2 1/2 day hunt. They have alot of piggies...

I am not opposed to public hunting, but I have been reading posts for over 5 years regarding pig hunting in SOCAL of where to hunt and not once has anyone ever suggested a legimate place to hunt that is free...

I went to a 6 hour Wild Pig hunt seminar at Bass Pro shop over the summer and the question came up of where to hunt south of Tejon and the answer was "not aware of any logical place" that hold enough wild pigs to hunt.

I am sure there is someone that knows of a spot, but it will never be told over the web.. my 2 cents..

Hunting private land will, in my opinion, save you money in the long run. If you are up for a do-it-yourself type hunt; there are hogs as close as Santa Barbara county. There are hundreds of thousands of acres of public land in the state and quite a few hold hogs. While you might have luck in Santa Barbara, you're odds of finding a pig will increase if you drive up to the Parkfield/Coalinga area. The local BLM and forest service offices in those areas are great sources of information. The people who work there are usually more than willing to point you in the right direction.
Military bases are another option. Quite a few guys hunt Fort Hunter Ligget and Camp Roberts with success.
