FYI, You still have to pay up front for all tags applied for and your Lic Fee.

It does make it easy

Good luck

We are in, I wish all app's. were this easy. My son will get to hunt for the first time, his info. went up on the screen, and it was a done deal in minutes. Also, I needed to speak with the CO. DFG on the phone about my sons status. Their attitude was not only friendly & helpful, but seemed to want to encourage the whole hunting idea. What a difference from my state.

It is easy and you can use a credit card, but now the draw odds will go way up. It's a lot easier for most folks to charge the card ans pay a few months interest than it is to write a check that you actually need to have disposable funds for. I bet the number of people who apply goes way up.

That's too true SD, I hope it doesn't get me eliminated from my draw. The unit I put in for has had pretty good success rates, and been a 100% draw for the last 4 yrs., so I am

. Though I actually started putting away $20 here and $40 there and had the cash saved up over the last few months to send a check, I now will make part of my house payment in cash, and send a chack to the CC company.

Before the Credit Cards came into play (2003) the Div. of Wildlife took in $79 million.

In 2004 (first year for Credit Cards) the Div. of Wildlife made $100 million.

Nothing like being crowded out thanks to Credit Cards and the Outdoor Channel with every other show being a Coloado Elk hunt

LOL I dont see that at all.
9.5 of 10 shows is some guy shooting a whitetail then stepping out and calling in a turkey. Gets old FAST. I rarely see any quality spot and stalk shows.
Am I watching the wrong shows?

Hey COhunter,
What do you think is the lesser of 2 evils? The credit cards or the over-the -counter bull tags. Personally I thought when CO doubled the price of non-res tags some years back, the % of people had really dropped. When I was in Durango that year, most all the out state hunters I talked to @ the campground said they would not be able to afford the price increase. I guess we all found a way, the stats don't lie.

After reading the Colorado Game Regs I've ruled out hunting there as there too many hunting zones within the CWD area where I used to hunt and wanted to return to.A friend of my daughter told her a hunting friend of her husband had a stroke and died but when they posted him the pathologist discovered he had CJD Variant and this man hunted and consumed alot of game meat.I choose to err on the side of caution regarding CWD as I believe it's transmissable contrary to the info presently available. The warnings are succinct don't eat the brain or spinal chord or lymph nodes but the whole animal is washed by the blood and lymphatic systems I remember too much from a Parasites of Domestic Animals Course and patholgy of game animals taught to me in wildlife management classes to believe that it's safe to consume deer, elk or moose.

SCR,
I ate meat from a 5x6 shot up in NW Colorado last season, by an archer, who also guides whitewatere in WV, and he nor anyone else has a probelm. Nor have I ever heard of a current case of CWD in humans around the country.

I am going Archery hunting in an area the hass borders of 2 CWD areas, but I have no fear.
