Colorado bound 3rd season elk in 2015

So now begins the excruciating wait for my first trip to hunt elk in Southwest Colorado. Its bad enough to have to wait from June to November!!!! I have to wait January to November. Its going to be the slowest year ever!!!

It sucks waiting!! In the meantime burn all the ammo you can and practice tough shots! My last bull was taken while running!

Yes sir! I plan on it. Last elk I got wasn't exactly a easy shot either. Not that I'm counting the days.....(285) or anything but I got lots of time to get everything perfect. This is our first trip to Colorado so we are so stoked. And my first drop camp. Everything in the past as been 100% diy.

I feel your pain...its a long wait, but at least I enterd the Az Draw today......I'll be heading into SW Colorado for Archery Elk - Sept cant get here soon enough.

I have a feeling a lot of us are all in the same boat. Just inpatiently waiting for the big game seasons to roll back around. I'm really faunchin at the bit because the last out of state hunt I've been on was Nevada mule deer 4 years ago. I am so ready to take some time away from work and relax. We are getting dropped somewhere in GMU 77. What unit are you heading to?

hey guysI'm planning a southwest Colorado elk hunt as well. What area are you guys hunting also probably looking into a semi guided drop camp situation.

We are going to be hunting in the San Juan national forest GMU 77 just outside of Pagosa Springs. We are having Fawn Gulch Outfitters drop us.
