Three friends and I have been thinking about a Colorado dropcamp, trespass, semi guided or DYI archery elk hunt this year. Since it is a last minute with very little time to research I was hoping to reach out for some help here. We thought we had arrangements made to hunt unit 75, but they fell through. We want to hunt an over the counter area that hopefully won’t be over crowded and have some game to chase (bull or cow and area of state doesn’t really matter). We would also like to keep the maximum price per person under $2,000. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated

Thank you brknarrow. We found a trespass hunt already and head out tomorrow. I will definitely keep them in mind for a future hunt though!

Sorry just got back into town this morning. It was $1,800/ per person. Had a 4,000 acre ranch to our group of 4. We got two bulls (a 4x5 and a broken up 4x3) and 2 missed shots. We were all very inexperienced elk hunters. We were on multiple elk every day. hunting public land the day before our hunt started we saw +\- 40 hunters, zero elk and no calling midweek. I've grown up hunting private and public land and this might have been my best hunting experience I've had.
