My 13 yr old son and I will be hunting Hogs on East Park Resevoir Monday and Tuesday and since he's out of school that week we will be in search of some public land piggies the rest of the week.

Anyone know of any public land in colusa, glenn or lake counties that has hogs. I dont expect any secret spots or honey holes...would just like to be pointed in some direction.

Also anyone ever fish East Park Res?

Thanks again for the hog cleaning techniques.

Pics and stories posted when we get back!

I have seen a lot of tracks around Indian Valley Res off HWY-20 but never saw the pigs. They are probably pretty nocternal their with all the traffic and motor cross around their but might be worth a try. There are a ton of trails that quads and motor cycles use and that is where I usually spend my time. Like I said A LOT of tracks just havent seen the hogs.

Aiden, you might check with the DFG when you do your East Park hunt to see if they can make some recommendations. The hog population up in that area seems to be expanding, and there's lots of good public land not too far away... I don't spend nearly as much time up there as I used to, but I was always just waiting to see the hogs show up on my deer spots. The turkeys arrived a few years ago... wouldn't be a bit surprised to start seeing hogs there too.

I fished at East Park last year when my buddy had his elk hunt there. We were camping and I caught catfish and bass from the rocky shoreline areas with a good ole rubber worm. The fishing we did was just to pass the time in the evening so I dont have any detailed info. Good luck on the hogs. Are you using the guide up there?

Thanks for the info guys.
We're not using a guide. Just the 2 of us allowed to hunt the peninsula area that has all the pigs. We can only take one. 27 permits were drawn for 2-day hunt periods.
