I need to get a new pair of binocs. I would be using them primarily for turkey hunting so large objective lenses are not a top priority though I don't want a pair that are useless in low light. Lightweight is a priority. I would like to keep the weight at a pound or less. My wallet is not full right now so I don't want to spend $500 for a pair. Would the compact porro prisms be the ticket or what do you think?

It's hard to find great compacts for low light conditions, but you may look into the Steiner Safari 10X26. I'm pretty happy with mine, especially at $125.

I'd try the Bushnell Legend 8x32. For the price I don't think you'll find better. I have a pair of Legend 8x42's and I'm impressed with them. I used them in some pretty harsh weather conditions hunting in B.C. and they worked great. Check out this review of the 8x32 Bushnell Legend.
