Just wanted to thank yet another JHO member for coming to hunt with us this weekend, he took a couple of hogs, one of them was a dandy! Thank you also for donating the trophy head, (we don't get to keep many of them here) so he'll go on the wall here at Bryson Resort.
I don't know if he'll get a chance to tell his story, but it went a little like this:
6:30 in the field, Deedy's strike dog Reno starts to strike before we're even close to the hogs. Deedy (with a little help from my friends) quickly sticks Reno inside the crew cab so we can do a little spot and stalk instead of a high speed dog chase. Once we get Reno off the dashboard of the truck (pretty funny - Reno's a little off the hook), we get the gate open and slip ever so quietly into the field. Sure enough there is the group of hogs that Reno's got scented, a group of 20 or so hogs moving over a ridge, meat hogs, sows piglets and "the toad". Slip around to meet them , perfect shot opportunity presents itself at 100 yards, and with one shot to the heart the big hog is down.

Thanks again, the gang at Bryson!

Hot Damn. That's a toothy tusker. No broken tusks. That's a prized possession you have there Deedy.

Thanks guys. We wanted him in the worst way! I guess it took a little luck, some nice shootin', & a "sow in heat" to get him out in the open. We've been hunting him for about 6 months now- he's always been in heavy heavy cover on the backside of a steep slope. Smart old hog too, busted me more than once .Here he is with his big red buddy back in Sept. on the game cams. Big Red has moved, but I know right where he is- he could be next!

Thanks XD, big ol' shoulder mount. He'll be one of the Bryson Greeter's at the resort office... in about a year ... that's my wait time at the taxidermist.
So excited to have him. Now we'll have three total trophy mounts from last year that we got to keep.
You guys always want to take 'em home with ya... can't imagine why (kidding).
