CONSERVATION EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATORS SET

Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are sponsoring a pair of workshops for those involved in outdoor education programs for youngsters that will certify them in Project Learning Tree (PLT), Project Water Education for Teachers (WET) and Project WILD, according to Project WILD Coordinator Karen Palazzolo,.

PLT, WET, and Project WILD are international award-winning environmental education programs that teach learning activities appropriate for those who work with pre-K-12 grade youth. Participants will receive PLT, WILD and/or WET curriculum and activity guides and supplemental resource materials.

Palazzolo said the PLT/WILD training will be 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Jan. 29, and the Project WET training will be 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the UNL-East Campus Union. Room assignments will be posted at the Kiosk.

The workshops are free, the normal $30 fee being paid by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Game and Parks Commission through the Wildlife Conservation and Restoration Program. Participants must register by Jan. 15.
