excuse my ignorance, but i was reading a post down below, where a fellow hunter was talking about his experience in hawaii (i believe) hunting a cow?? i don't want to sound too ignorant here, but is that legal? i'm a texas resident, have been most my life, and i'm relatively young and new into hunting (26, been hunting 5 years), but i've NEVER heard of wild cow hunting. all the cows here are tame, even the ones freegrzing on state land. i can't imagine hunting a cow. so i'm guessing there is some wild breed of cows there? or are they all feral? how is the meat? this sounds like the ultimate! man, i love me some ribeyes :)

Yupp, it's legal and apparently quite challenging.

Read some more of Nic and Doc Cherry's posts and you'll find quite a bit of information about the wild cattle, the hunts (limited hunting), and the related laws. Someone, maybe Nic Barca, posted the actual regulations.

I do believe I have heard of wild Cow hunting in Southern Texas and also the feral cow on Kodiak Island.

They've been loose for 200 years and have regressed back into a wild state.
