Welcome to Jesse’s page
For you questions we will need to know what state you are hunting in? If it’s in California then no yotes are a nongame animal and does not have a season but you may not hunt in state parks and some areas are shotgun only hunting. It’s best to check if you don’t know the area first. Yes you can use your 06 for yotes I don’t think you will have any problem putting one down with it. As for what to do Shoot and Shovel rule I don’t think you will get much of a pelt off one hit with a 30-06.

Coyotes are year round in california. Some varmint hunters prefer not to hunt them during denning (spring). I'll go out there anytime of year.

Oh yeah! And about your 30-06. Unless you plan to keep the pelt or take the yote to the taxidermist, 30-06 will do fine. I've made exit wounds on them with a 30-30 the size a fist.
