I was out hunting there over the weekend and met up with a guy who said he and his buddies saw some Elk up there. He said he saw a bull and 5 cows. While we were chatting he got a call on his two way and one of his buddies was saying that he was looking at them. I never did see them but he seemed to be telling the truth. The radio call I heard only confirmed it.

Has anyone seen the Elk out there?

This all happened at Alamo Mountain.

A neighbor who lives in the area told me he glassed elk from Alamo to southwest. I am told by others in the area that there are elk close around D-13 to mainly on Wind Wolves Preserve area. And of course on Tejon Ranch

Heard a story three years ago that a group of around 15 hunters shot an elk. The warden was called and the elk was found. They took everyones info and what caliber rifle they had and were going to examin the elk to see what caliber they would find in it. This was in a trail north of frazier of of potrero road.

There are elk on and around San Emigdio Canyon area. A large portion of the property is Wind Wolves Preserve. Around 10 years ago the Department moved some tule elk to that area. They are doing good and slowly expanding. There are also elk from the southern end of the La Panza zone crossing 166 and expanding as well. Plus there are Rocky Mountain elk on Tejon Ranch. Hope that helps,

Thanks
